Our coaches invest thousands of hours of voluntary time each season to our players and the club would not have been as successful as it has without them.

Geoff Allen
VE & FIVB Level 3

Experience:

England Men and England Junior Women Assistant Coach
Coach to England South Cadets and South-West Junior Men
Coach to Wessex National League teams - men for 15 years and women for 17 years
Spent 7 years as a Director of Volleyball England, been a member of various VE Commissions and VE President, been Chairman of the Poole-Bournemouth Volleyball Association for the last 15 years,

Favourite Player:

Probably Karch Kiraly of the USA, who is the only player to win Olympic gold medals at both indoor and beach volleyball. At 1.90m, he wasn't as tall as many, but had incredible determination to win.

Lynn Allen
VE Level 2

Experience:

Coached for over 30 years, Wessex Mens Div 1, Wessex Junior Men, SW U17's, Wessex Junior Women U18, Mini Volleyball, Schools.

Best Achievement:

Winning National Championships with outstanding team performances. Sport England Coach of the Year (Amateur, team). VE Coach of the Year. VE Female Coach of the Year.

Anthony Roberts
VE Level 3

Experience:

Coached Wessex women's NL team for a season many years ago. Help Lynn and Rex with the juniors (15 and under) for last 3 years. Assistant coach 2009-10 and 2010-11 for the South West Under 15 Boys squad.

 

Ex-GB International Player.


Best Achievement:

As a player - GB International as a player
As a coach - Joint 3rd place in 2010 Under 15 Boys' Championships. 2010 Under 14 Boys' British Beach Champions.

Not sure. So many to choose from, from local players to professionals on the world stage.

 

Dan Hunter
VE Level 3

Experience:

Current Assistant Coach England Junior Men. Coached Super 8 Men, England South Girls, Wessex U18 Girls, Drost VZK Men 1 (NED), Landstede Women 2 (NED).

Played 100+ times for Great Britain and competed in the London 2012 Olympics

Best Achievement:

As a coach - winning the UK School Games with England South

As a player - having the opportunity to play at a home Olympics and many European Championship, Euro League and other International competitions around the world.

Experience:

Coached (assistant) French selection Benjamin, Cadet, various clubs in France and London (won London div 1 with Spikers), schools (France and England (ie: American school in London)), university, national BV Juniors men. Played N1 France, 3rd National Junior, Polonia cup and championships.
