Wessex LeAF do Double-Double!
Wessex Volleyball Clubs Men’s and Women’s U18 teams secured a unique Double Double this weekend as they were both were crowned Grand Prix Champions at the National Volleyball Centre, Kettering. Both teams were up against London based Malory and had to work hard for their victories, but excellent team work and high quality attacking saw them both come out with 3-0 victories.
Girls Head Coach Dave Gunter said;
‘The girls had to dig deep throughout the match, our superior passing and aggression in attack made the difference, in the end. It was also emotional for the girls as for most this was their last game as juniors and many will now be going off to University’s around the country, so the next time they meet their may be a net between them!’
Boys Head Coach Kirk Pitman said;
‘The boys played a great game; they stuck to the game play and showed great team work throughout. Even when Malory were putting pressure on they stayed calm and believed in themselves and each other. It was great to be able to match the girl’s success and complete the Double Double.
