Wessex U15s reach Final 6s

Wessex boys have reached the Last 6's of the National Volleyball Under 15 Cup after coming third in the Southern round.  They will travel to Loughborough on the 13th May for the Finals.

Wessex, had a very young team with three 12 years olds in their small squad.  Despite this, the team started well, captain 13 year old Luke Honeybun set the tone with a strong serving run that Richmond B couldn't return.  With Tom Nicholas and Rowan Turner dominating the front court the set was won 25-17.   The second set followed the same pattern with Joshua Honeybun and Tomasso Kemp setting well and Kian Safaee contributing with consistent serves.   25-19.

Next up were Greenhouse Malory, London B.   Luke Honeybun, Tom Nicholas and Rowan Turner were controlling the pass and the front court whilst the power serving from the team saw a large lead built up.  12 year old Jack Langen was showing his potential with a fine all round performance and the first set was won 25-11.   The second set followed the same pattern with a 25-11 win.

The next matches would establish the positions of the top three.   Here Wessex were unable to match the power and experience of their opponents.   They fought hard but with tiredness taking its toll the team lost the matches against Richmond A and Greenhouse A 2-0.
